Kongregate's first mobile game due this month

The $10 million fund Kongregate put aside to publish mobile games will bear its first fruit this month with the release of Tyrant: Unleashed.

Tyrant: Unleashed hails from Synapse Games and is the first of five launch titles for Kongregate's mobile publishing initiative. It's a collectible card game with co-op and competitive guild play, and is described as a "sister" to Tyrant, a web game hosted by Kongregate.

The other four titles are BloodRealm from RedPoint Labs and Making Fun - another collectible card game; Sheep Happens from Lingplay and Endless Boss Fight from White Milk Games - both action games; and RPG Cardinal Quest 2 from Randomnine Ltd.

All four titles are due within the next few months, and Kongregate has more games bubbling away in the background.

Kongregate describes itself as an expert in the monetisation of mid- and hardcore games, and boasts of a reach of "tens of millions" of monthly visitors to Kongregate and GameStop, its parent company.
