Monster Hunter Online beta footage shows lush CryEngine 3 worlds

Monster Hunter Online is currently in closed beta, and footage of the MMO has appeared online. It’s all very green and lush thanks to CryEngine 3 running in the background. The clip shows combat, monsters and more.

We’ve also got the game’s official trailer from Capcom and Tencent here.

What do you think?

Thanks AGB.

Still the average MH, lame-ass tiny areas broken up by fades to black then. Does the game serious need that considering how fast it seems to load each area (assuming theres no editing in these videos)? Why not just have one big map to roam around? Its something that really puts me off this series.

I love the Monster Hunter concept, art, & world, but they really need to streamline the experience. I gave up on MH Tri because half the game was a chore.

30 hours in & I still couldn’t obtain decent healing items quickly. You can’t rely on farming alone, so you have to go out, pick herbs & mushrooms & honey & then combine them all one by one, kill some herbivores & individually roast their meat to perfection. FFS just let me buy that stuff! It’s like almost everything in the game is designed to waste as much time as possible, except the actual hunts, which have goddamn time limits.
