Daylight: PS4 footage shows gameplay, procedurally-created world

Tuesday, 2nd July 2013 09:54 GMT By Dave Cook

Daylight developer Zombie Studios has shown the horror game running on PS4. The procedurally-generated game was originally billed as an episodic release, but creative director Jared Gerritzen has explained that the team plumped for a full release on Sony’s platform in a new video interview.

The game is running in Unreal Engine 4, and is coming to PS4 and PC in 2014. What do you think?

Why would somebody use a compass inside a building? Am I missing something XD?

I guess the protagonist doesn’t know his way inside the building? It is a horror game… he’ll be going to places where he hasn’t been.

And why should he/her use a compass? And how compass can help in closed space? :D Not to mention that game would be better without any orientation device.

Yeah but most horror games being released nowadays don’t have any device so I guess they’re trying to differentiate themselves.

    This looks distinctly current gen.

And a bit dull… procedurally generated gameplay is fine, providing those elements are part of a more structured framework. But using it as the primary structure of the game?

    Mmm. Not convinced yet.
