Watch Dogs: cryptic ‘WeareData’ site appears

Tuesday, 25th June 2013 08:55 GMT By Dave Cook

Watch Dogs is out in November, but that hasn’t stopped Ubisoft dropping some tease-bombs ahead of time. The developer has published a cryptic new site for something called ‘WeareData’, which is linked to the title.

You can find the site here. It means bugger all to us so far. See what you think.

Thanks Dex3108.

    Title says We Are Data so it could be some kind of mini game for us that involves social channels (twitter, facebook, G+…)

    I fathom they collect the browser data of everyone who is visiting the site to do something with it. Would fit the theme of Watch Dogs and the “We are Data” line.

    J-2 might refer to the 2nd of July, maybe?

    @3 Nothing to do with a date, as I’ve just gone to the site and it says D-2 O.o

    The page says “Days – 2″ to me, anyway the banner says “WeareData”, with different colors between “Weare” and “Data”, so I concur this might be a clothing line.

    @6 if you look in source code you will see that Weare is written as We Are. Also It says Weare instead of Wear.

    @7 Marketing slogans.
    “We Are Data”
    “Wear Data”
    It takes upon the game’s theme to instill in the viewer a sense of “ownership” of Aiden Pearce’s motive and style, thus making him/her wanting to wear clothes inspired by their new “hero”.

    Apparently it will measure our digital shadow :D

    “It’s all about what you know and how much data you put out there. How big is your Digital Shadow?”

    Right, if you guys see something like D-1 or Days – 1 now, it means the J (J – 1 for me now) stands for Jour (French for “day”) and it’s a countdown. Ubisoft is French after all. I just don’t know why I’d get the French version over the English one from a German browser with German IP address…

    We’ll see tomorrow then.
