Tom Clancy's The Division: "we're not ruling out other platforms", says Ubisoft

Tom Clancy's The Division's plot has been discussed by Ubisoft, and the team has also stressed that while the game is coming to PS4 and Xbox One it is not ruling out other platforms. It's reading the internet, they say.

Speaking with IGN, the team at Ubisoft re-capped that the game is set three weeks after Black Friday, following the signing of Directive 51 by George Bush. By this point a virus has been spread across New York City via tainted dollar bills, and players are part of the Division task force sent in to mop up the mess.

There are factions, seamless PvP, a companion app and the ability to traverse the city at your leisure to seek out missions and other distractions.

Since the game was announced at E3, gamers have petitioned Ubisoft to bring The Division to PC.

Interestingly, when asked about the game's release platforms, The Division's Ryan Barnard said, "It's set for release winter 2014 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but we're not ruling out other platforms because we do also read the internet."

When asked if this meant PC, he replied, "Ubisoft as a company considers ... maximising the potential for a game, so if the audience is there and the desire is there,"
