Steam Trading Cards launch June 26, next summer sale hinted by Valve

Steam Trading Cards are leaving beta and will roll out to all users from June 26, Valve has confirmed. The news was book-ended by a tease that smells a lot like the Steam Summer Sale which, incidentally smells of fresh chips and cut grass.

Valve posted the trading card news on its forum, and added that the cards will be added to many existing games in June 26 at 11am PDT. The post added that Valve will continue to iterate and expand the card system from that point onwards.

The post ends, "Making trading cards available to all Steam users is a step towards an event we think everyone can be excited about..."

So what do they mean folks? The Summer Sale? Half-Life 3?

Of course not Half-Life 3...
