Toki Tori 2+ on PC to release a week later than originally planned

Saturday, 22nd June 2013 16:26 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Toki Tori 2+ on PC has been delayed slightly, according to Two Tribes. Instead of releasing on July 2, you can expect the enhanced edition to release on Steam July 11 instead. The firm said the delay is part of a “time honored Two Tribes tradition,” and that it will use the time to “do some more play testing and bug fixing.” To find out more on the PC version and read up on a first-day purchase discount, follow the linky link.

Oh come on, the Dutch developer is “not” newsworthy anymore with stories like this. Have you counted the news you featured mentioning an episode of Toki Tori 1, 2 + X, Y will be delayed? It did not matter whether it was the Wii U port or other platforms before. I don’t even know why they’re doing this.

They could easily start not providing people with an ETA then they do not need to delay their schedule. It’s not even funny, so this won’t become a runing gag one day… like: Hey, did you hear about this new game from Two Tribes? And: Oh, yes, you mean Toki Tori 2024 BetaGamma-? Heard it is coming on time – nah, just kidding.

@1 When a game has been delayed, it’s news, no matter how many times it has been delayed or if the company has a habit of it.

When people are expecting something to release on a certain date, and it comes and goes, then they will be coming to their “news” source asking why they were not informed.

maybe they delayed it because of the summer sale? since it may start the next thursday, they didnt wanted to be up during the sales, since nobody will notice it

They’ve delayed it because it’s actually still in testing, and I can speak of that as a beta tester. It’s getting updated almost every day to fix things that people find. Wasn’t it only the other day that we had people carrying on about how much they hated Fez because a patch landed which didn’t have years of testing?

And now people are complaining because a game is being tested more thoroughly?

We’re such a divisive culture. WE LOVE BETA TESTING. WE HATE BETA TESTING. WE LIKE SENDING MIXED MESSAGES.

Suffice it to say, though, the game is indeed still in testing, and issues are still being found. The way the Toki Tori 2+ developer has gone about this is actually really intelligent. He’s allowed just about anyone interested into the beta testing sessions, and due to that he’s discovered a lot of bugs he otherwise wouldn’t have. The release won’t be absolutely bug free because nothing is, but it’ll have a higher chance of not having game breaking bugs.

    It’s being worked on.
