The Chaos Engine video teases reboot of classic steampunk shooter

Devolver Digital has released a teaser trailer for its reboot of The Chaos Engine. Released back in 1993, the Renegade Software published title developed by The Bitmap Brothers was a steampunk shooter for Amiga, Atari, OS, Sega Mega Drive, Super NES and more. Check it out below. We’ll give you more information when we, ourselves know more about it. The game will on display at Rezzed this weekend in the UK. Thanks, SplatteredHouse.

    personally i didnt enjoy the gameplay in the original, but i did like the concept. it is a great target for a reboot

    Renegade was the best publisher ever. I wonder what happened to them.

    Is this being developed by the “real” Bitmap Brothers? I see their logo on the website, but I thought they closed years ago.

    @4 According to Wikipedia,. They were aquired by Warner Interactive in 1996. Warner Interactive was later sold to Infograms (now Atari), and the label was dropped.

    If the label Tower Studios is there, then yes. If not, probably not.
