Far Cry 4, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Prince of Persia being considered at Ubisoft

Thursday, 20th June 2013 08:07 GMT By Dave Cook

Far Cry 4, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and a new Prince of Persia are either being considered or worked on right now at Ubisoft, as part of its aim to constantly be thinking forward on new titles. Ubisoft European head Alain Corre has confirmed that all three games are being considered at the publisher.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Corre said of Far Cry 4, “We haven’t announced anything yet. We’re thinking of the future of this brand. We don’t know yet when it will emerge. Again, it’s cooking. Something is cooking.”

When asked if it would take long to cook as a new Prince of Persia, Corre added, “No no! No way. We try to put the fire a bit stronger.”

Corrce was then asked if a new Prince of Persia game was in the works now, and he said that while Ubisoft’s franchies are always in gestation, the publisher cannot bring out all of these titles each year, stressing that the company already had a lot to show at E3 last week.

He then added, “It will happen when we feel it is ready, when the creators have brought something interesting. That’s the case for all our franchises. They’re cooking. Some are cooking longer than others, but they’re cooking.”

Finally, the site asked Corre for the status of Beyond Good & Evil 2, to which he replied, “There are some works on it. There are some iterations on it. Now, some games are taking longer to be done, depending also on the creativity the creator can bring. You see the level of quality of the games today is very high. It takes time to find the right angle and message.

“It’s true that the trailer we showed years ago, in the desert with the pig sneezing and flies still resonates very well. These kind of brands are part of Ubisoft’s DNA. It will happen when it will be perfect.”

Out of the three, which game are you most keen to see happen next? Let us know below.

Guess Far Cry 4 wouldnt be that of a surprise, after FC3 was a massive success to Ubisoft.
I wonder about Prince of Persia though.. Will this leaked PoP Zero ever reach the surface?

It won’t. PoP Zero was a codename for Osiris but it was scrapped late 2011s

I would honestly like Ubisoft to focus on new IPs and other franchises than Prince of Persia. Just because I haven’t even completed any of the previous ones despite owning them all.

Beyond Good and Evil 2… Meh, rumour after rumour.

Far Cry 4, FC3 was one of the best games of 2012. But I don’t want to see the franchise get fatigued. What was so refreashing about FC3 was that it was a massive improvement over FC2, and that there was four years between the games. So people were actually hungry for a new FC game.

BGE2 will probably be released on the same day as Half-Life 3. You know, Soon™.

I hope for Prince of Persia, soon, or Rainbow 6 Patriots.
I couldn’t care much about FC4, and my view on BGE2 is becoming that I’d be delighted to see it, but with Ubisoft’s past approach to it, I’ll get interested in it again, ONCE it is more tangible.

I’ll keep a light lit that one day we will find out what happened in the desert after Pey’j momentarily awoke up from his slumber, next to the broken down, stripped car shell, and chewed down a fly.
