State of Decay tops 500K sales, is fastest-selling original XBLA game

Microsoft has announced that State of Decay holds the somewhat mysterious title of "fastest selling original game ever on Xbox Live Arcade".

The Xbox Wire post announcing the record gives no explanation of what games fall under the category "original".

To achieve this end, State of Decay shifted over 500,000 units in its first week on sale, which began on June 5.

The news comes just days after the indie survival horror strategy effort hit 250,000 sales in its first 48 hours.

Undead Labs rolled out a patch on the game's first weekend, but it broke rather more than it fixed, apparently. A fix is on the way.

A PC release of State of Decay is on the way, and Undead labs is also expected to produce an MMO of some kind.
