GoG kicks off 2013 noDRM Summer Sale with Torchlight for free

Tuesday, 18th June 2013 15:08 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Torchlight is free through until June 20, and if you have yet to try Runic Games’ single-player RPG, you’d be doing yourself a disservice for not grabbing it through the digital service.

It’s all part of GoG’s 2013 #noDRM Summer Sale, in which various titles will be 50-85% off until July 5.

Over 500 games are on sale for 17 days, with 150 games up to 85% off in daily deals.

Today’s daily bundles include all of GOG’s D&D titles, which includes Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2, Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, Planescape: Torment and others; and 90% off as well on Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.

Other featured developers and publishers include Electronic Arts, Activision, Atari, Ubisoft, and Square Enix; and indie studios with titles such as Legend of Grimrock, FTL: Faster Than Light, Hotline Miami, Resonance, and Alan Wake. also released 11 new Mac games today, including System Shock 2 on Mac for the first time ever, as well as Realms of Arkania, Nox, MegaRace 1 + 2, and more.

All of these games are being offered as daily deals, though, so be sire to check the site daily.

    Damn this is a good sale! Steam could learn something from this.

    @2 Like Steam is one that dictates prices etc. of games that go into sale :D Steam & Valve can just encourage publishers and/or developers to jump into things like Summer Sales, but they can’t decide prices etc.

    @5 It is free ->
    Also, afaik there’s no DLC so you’re probably looking at Torchlight 2, which with mod support is pretty much the best money you’ll ever spend on a crawler.

    You misunderstood me. I’m not saying anything about the discounts they give, which are somewhat good most of the time, i was thinking of how the games they sell are soo DRM infested you can’t even start your computer up without it calling up Valve to ask if it is okay :P

    So you’ve been projecting this whole time? I think I get it, now.

    You’re someone on a tight budget, with a shitty PC, who constantly downloads computer games from PirateBay. Then you project this onto other people by proclaiming that all PC gamers are pirates because they supposedly do what you do. Except that they don’t. You do this because you realise that most PC gamers have more self respect than you do.

    I’d suggest counseling.
