E3 poll results: VG247 readers pick this year's show winners

E3 2013 is behind us but the appetite for next-gen and new games remains. Last week we ran a series of Facebook polls to gauge your reaction and to get a handle on what wowed you the most at the show.

We ran a handful of polls mostly geared towards the press conference and on the next-gen console war, and as you might have guessed Sony fared favourably. Here's a breakdown of the poll results in full:

Question One: Who 'won' the battle of the E3 conferences this year?

  • Microsoft - 30 votes
  • EA - 7 votes
  • Ubisoft - 22 votes
  • Sony - 446 votes
  • Nintendo - 7 votes
  • Picking E3 winners is for losers - 8 votes

(520 people voted in total)

A whopping 85.7% of you voted Sony as winner of the pre-E3 conferences, and it's understandable seeing as Sony said almost everything gamers wanted to hear, along with a strong suite of games. You can watch the conference again and get full analysis here.

Question two: Will you buy an Xbox One at launch?

  • Yes - 57 votes
  • No - 544 votes
  • I'll wait for a price drop - 57 votes

(658 people voted in total)

Many gamers didn't take kindly to Microsoft's anti-used game options within Xbox One. They're at a publisher's discretion but a lot of people fear that big players like EA and Ubisoft will jump on the chance come November. Regardless many of you voted against Xbox One despite a fairly strong showing of IP during Microsoft's conference.

Question three: which next-gen console will you buy at launch?

  • PS4 - 667 voted
  • Xbox One - 97 voted
  • Neither - 169 voted

(923 voted in total)

The next-gen battle has begun and Sony looks like it'll be leading the pack for some time. November is still a while away and a lot can change by then. However, I wrote an analysis piece on the differences between both PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the $100 price gap. You can check it out here.

Question four: What is your most anticipated game of E3 2013? (taken before the show)

  • DayZ - 3251 votes (bloody hell!)
  • Battlefield 4 - 448 votes
  • Watch Dogs - 365 votes
  • Fallout 4 - 190 votes
  • The Elder Scrolls Online - 178 votes
  • Half-Life 3 - 158 votes
  • Arma 3 - 130 votes
  • Metal Gear Solid 5 - 118 votes
  • Mirror's Edge 2 - 98 votes
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts - 98 votes
  • Saint's Row 4 - 68 votes
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - 58 votes
  • Star Wars: Battlefront - 41 votes
  • Dark Souls 2 - 41 votes
  • Destiny - 38 votes
  • Dragon Age 3: Inquisition - 37 votes
  • FIFA 14 - 35 votes
  • Thief 4 - 30 votes
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall - 24 votes
  • Uncharted 4 - 23 votes
  • Total War: Rome 2 - 22 votes
  • Halo 5 - 21 votes
  • Borderlands 3 - 19 votes
  • Infamous: Second Son - 19 votes
  • Payday 2 - 17 votes
  • Forza 5 - 15 votes
  • Super Smash Bros - 14 votes
  • Batman: Arkham Origins - 14 votes

Well this is a bit of a weird one isn't it? Despite Uncharted 4, Fallout 4, Half-Life 3 and Borderlands 3 not being unveiled at E3, many of you really wanted to see them announced at the show. How about now? Do you still want them to be confirmed soon?

That's all folks. What did you think of E3 2013? Let us know below.
