Star Wars Old Republic’s Nightmare Mode trailer is quite epic

Star Wars: The Old Republic has received a new trailer, this time for the MMO’s Operation Nightmare update. It all looks a bit mad and well, nightmarish.

For a complete run-down of what’s new in this latest 2.2: Operation Nightmare update, hit up the official Star Wars: The Old Republic blog.

In short, guilds are a key focus. The team at BioWare Austin has also added in guild challenges and other features to get everyone working together, along with the most unforgiving operation bosses to date, as well as new achievements and the Kell Dragon equipment tier.

What do you think of the footage above?

Reminds me of Champions Online, to be honest, which had Normal, Hard, Very Hard, and Elite difficulties for all instances and adventure packs. To do Serpent Lantern on elite, solo, at any level is a very sadistic thing.

Except CO was much more of an action MMO than SWTOR, so it had that benefit, too.

Odd how they are focusing on guilds for a single player game. Shame they have put fuck all focus on pvp with the same generic maps and have made zero effort to fix ‘Ilum’ for open world pvp.

When the server transfers kick in, I can see more servers getting switched off as the player base shrinks even more because its being led by a design team who have zero ideas unless it involves the Cartel Market.
