Namco Bandai tease points to new PS3 game, Strelka Stories suspected

Namco Bandai Japan has opened a mysterious teaser site which has been visually linked to a long-awaited follow up to Tail Concerto and Solatorobo: Red the Hunter.

The site advertises a new title for PlayStation 3, and the only other clues are the letters “sbs” in the URL and a star-strewn background.

The logo in the bottom left says “Bandai Namco Games Lab”, which is just the name of the publisher’s Japanese website.

AllGamesBeta points out it bears a visual resemblance to some of the assets on the site for Strelka Stories, a mysterious CyberConnect2 project.

Strelka Stories was announced way back in 2010 to celebrate the .hack, Asura’s Wrath and Naruto developer’s 15th anniversary. It was a space themed adventure starring dog-like creatures.

Nothing was ever heard of it again, but the visual style suggested it was some sort of successor to the much-loved Tail Concerto and Solatorobo: Red the Hunter.

The two things I’m hoping for out of Namco Bandai are either a new .hack game/series that includes Pi, or a new Soul Calibur game that brings back all the characters that got kicked off the roster in Soul Calibur V, especially Sophitia and Taki.

Also Google Translate for the page’s title gives me “NAMCO BANDAI Games official rhino.” Fuck yeah rhino!

Wasn’t Strelka one of the dogs the Russians shot into space?
