Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will include a new version of Metal Gear Online multiplayer, and it’s in development now across Kojima Productions and the studio’s new Los Angeles arm.

Speaking with CVG, Hideo Kojima said, “Yes, we plan on creating Metal Gear Online. Multiplayer right now is being created at our LA studio as well as us. We’re working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all the fans.”

You can watch the extended cut of Metal Gear Solid 5′s E3 trailer here, along with our analysis of what’s going on in the clip.

Interested in seeing the evolution of Metal Gear Online 2.0 into this. Will it be more open world as Red Dead Redemption or be restricted to more restricted playgrounds?

I don’t think the game requires multiplayer.. But, I guess its a sorta good idea. Its a way to combat piracy and add playability.. I would rather more playability in the single player than a multiplayer option
