Thursday, 13th June 2013 09:02 GMT By Dave Cook

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze developer Retro Studios has explained to Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime why it decided to make a sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns. Basically, they reckon there’s a lot more cool stuff they can do.

In the clip, CEO of Retro Studios, Michael Kelbaugh stated that the team has been able to do some interesting new things with the Wii U hardware, and that it felt natural to go from Wii to Wii U with the franchise.

It’s a Wii U game so it will probably work with pro controller / gamepad which means thankfully, no stupid waggle like Country Returns on Wii.

With that said, I was seriously disappointed to see them working on another DK game instead of a new IP or even more Metroid. Also, bullshit on their reasoning.
