Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare promos spotted at E3

The Los Angeles Convention Centre has been decorated with promotional artworks inviting E3 attendees to check out Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare at EA's booth.

The banners and column surrounds, apparently snapped by Gamekyo, show 3D, claymation-looking character models in addition to traditional Plants vs Zombies 2D promotional art.

On one side of a column, you can see what appears to be a mention of Plants vs Zombies 2, suggesting the 2D art may be related to the already-detailed sequel, and PopCap has two games on show.

Kotaku backs this theory up with a report citing anonymous sources for word that Garden Warfare is a shooter - a rumour that's been doing the rounds since August last year.

PopCap has been teasing something shooty with joke titles like "Grass Effect", "Petal of Honor" and "Dead Face". The fact that the only game the bannered title evokes is that of rival Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare puts an edge of uncertainty on it - but the large banner suggests that the game is on show, which makes a marketing stunt seem less likely.
