Xbox One will get more exclusive announcements at gamescom in August, as well as a ‘surprise’ Xbox 360 reveal at E3 next week.

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer confirmed the gamescom reveals in a series of exchanges with fans on Twitter:

On the issue of next weeks ‘surprise’ Xbox 360 reveal, Spencer added:

So, what do you think the unannounced Xbox 360 game is? Could it be Halo 2 HD as the fan suggested? Let us know below.

Thanks GameChup and OXM.

At this point, they can announce Half Life 3 + Fallout 4 + Shenmue 3 as Xbox One exclusives and I would still not give a single fuck about their system.

The 360 surprise game could be neat though.

Xbox 360 will add support for Mac OS X? Was I close?

No, but seriously, my guess is that they will open up the 360 for general development. An App-store and native sdk access for everyone.

I understand where MS is coming from, they want all the Cable and Satellite TV providers in the USA to give a free Xbox1 if you sign a 2 year contract! That will put a ton of New Consoles in Homes!

But to get Cable and Satellite Providers to do this, they had to show these providers that their Xbox1 can be a great entertainment device that is a gateway to their services!

But, Long Term Xbox supporters bought the console for games, and that was their first reason for the purchase, everything else was secondary!

Now MS came off as TV, Movies, Music were the first choice and games were secondary, but they have E3 to turn things around for Gamers, though the daily news on them, is not always so pleasant!

@1 They really do, even from what I hear first hand. And these are fairly smart people who know how to read Reddit and comment sections – so they’re not ignorant of what the majority of early adopters are saying. So what are we missing that they know?

Either we’re talking MAJOR exclusives, a cheaper price point for the console or a cheaper price point for the games.

The more general reporting from tech sites and the non-gaming press has been very positive. Anecdotally people I know are chatting about it in a positive way. It’s a little bit too easy to get stuck on gaming site commentary and threads. The vast majority of existing 360/PS3 owners don’t read or comment here.

The are also confident they have a good set of titles in development and coming from third parties. As long as they have those bases covered then a lot of gamers will buy the machine.

They can shove their exclusives down their DRM arse.

Actually, they can’t do that because there is no internet connection in a human ass. They have to come out of their asses every 24 hours.

Indeed. If you asked how many of the people who have a problem with this play CoD or FIFA, you’d probably get a big fat zero for a response.

Yet those games sell millions upon millions, release after release.

    ^ Point completely missed…

Whatever opinion a bunch forumites might have, the majority of internet/XBL/PSN using gamers clearly think differently, and are more than capable of buying up tens, if not hundreds, of millions of X1s.

@15 if only that was a good thing for the industry.

@15 you have a point regarding the masses out there. And that’s the most distrurbing part. The masses tolerate F2P plus microtransactions. And usually they don’t care, if a device needs to connect every day or that camera, heartbeatmonitor and microphone registers everything after a commercial.

Because the masses are lazy and don’t even look for the ‘off’ switch on their kinect.

It’s in the hands of the masses, how he future of gaming will be layed out. They vote exactly like forumites and hardcore gamers – with their wallet.

    But they are Goliath.

    @19:

Yeah, well just look at the biggest selling games.

They’re online games. FIFA sells because of it’s online modes. CoD sells because of it’s online modes. Halo, Battlefield, etc…

Why would any of these people care about having to connect once a day, when all they do is play online, anyway?

And don’t think that MS isn’t going to push more persistent world MMOs that these same players will probably devour like candy, too.

People here are getting worked up like the games industry is exclusively for them, but as long as they aren’t the majority, it pretty much never will be.

This is what will decide it in the end.
    GAMES.
All the rest is just bitching and grandstanding.

Of all the posters here every one of them will be drooling over the next game that all there m8s have and will go in with tails between there legs and buy it.

Then after firing it up will wonder what they were on about in the first place as there new toy is so fu***ing awesome.

Thats the way it works guys trust me.
The older you get the more you see these things happening in every walk of life So enjoy your new psxo1 when you do get it. ;)

    @reask – I’m older and I disagree.
Not saying I wont ever buy a Xbox one, but it will never ever have the same level of enthusiasm or money spent on it as I did with the original and the 360. I loved Xbox, now I feel at best meh towards them.

With the attitude MS has and all their restrictions, all it has done is make me put off getting one at launch and waiting till games are cheaper and seeing how it goes. IF the PS4 is less restrictive, I would now buy Sony, and last year at this time I would have never said that.
