Beep games seems to have dropped a couple of words off the end of Ron Gilbert’s newgame, which launches today, leaving it with the comparatively modest 11 word “Scurvy Scallywags in The Voyage to Discover the Ultimate Sea Shanty”.
Previously, it was “Scurvy Scallywags in The Voyage to Discover the Ultimate Sea Shanty Launches: A Musical Match-3 Pirate RPG” which made me want to beat someone with my keyboard.
Anyway, the actual news is that the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch title is out now, offering a combination of Broadway musical and match-three gameplay described in a press release as “entirely fun”.
It boasts four lands, 16 verses of sea shanty to collect, costumes, ship building, a skill tree, 50 achievements, randomly generated end-game content, iCloud support and social media integration.
It was designed by Monkey island creator Ron Gilbert and can be yours for $1 or regional equivalent.
