    Very futuristic looking gear. What year is that supposed to be again?

    @1 It’s set sometime in the 2030′s.

    Some of that digital camo looks really ineffective. 8-bit warriors for real.

    @1, Mid 2030. Campaign at least.

    @2, 3: Thanks. That makes sense.

    Thank god they didn’t include invisible camouflage or some future soldier shit.

    @5 Have you checked out Red Orchestra 2? It’s a pretty great tactical shooter.

    @2 You would be surprised how well those patterns make you disappear into forests, bushes etc. Idea isn’t to make you invisible, but blend into background and with some proper camonets you are next to invisible. That shit works wonders.

    @4 They wanted to take approach with ArmA 3 that equipment would be something that is very likely in use around 2030′s. Some existing tech and some that is still in development, but looks to be future of warfare. At least what I read some time back about ArmA 3.

    @8 Obviously, but there’s good digital camo and bad digital camo.

    Case in point being the brown pattern and the green pattern above.

    The brown pattern has big enough pixel clusters to be hard to see from afar, while being fragmented enough to work at medium range as well.

    I don’t think the green one does. It sticks out like a sore thumb at medium range.

    @9 I would hold my judgement about camos before you see them in proper environments. Green will stick out from burned grass etc. This far those camos that are in game blend really nicely.
