Shroud of the Avatar introduces instalment payments for reward tiers

If you missed out on crowdfunding Richard Garriott's Shroud of the Avatar, or just couldn't afford one of the many, many expensive backer tiers, Portalarium would like to invite you to join a layaway scheme whereby you can pay in instalments.

The layaway scheme, which opens in June according to the most recent Kickstarter update, will be available to new backers and those who want to upgrade their existing pledge.

The scheme will allow users to make a monthly payment towards their pledge total, and a small service fee will be charged for the convenience.

Reward tiers available are listed in full on the RPG's website, and range up to $11,000; this top tier includes a tour of Richard Garriott's house and a unique avatar, among other goodies.

Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues is a spiritual successor to Ultima, which Garriott created, and is a strange sort of shared-world RPG rather than a true MMO. It's all a bit mysterious, actually, but everyone seems quite excited; it raised $1.9 million through Kickstarter alone.

Thanks, Massively.
