Destiny gameplay to be shown at Sony’s E3 conference

Wednesday, 5th June 2013 00:10 GMT By Brenna Hillier

We’ll finally get our first proper look at Bungie’s new IP in action during Sony’s E3 2013 press conference.

Bungie announced iw will show Destiny gameplay at Sony’s E3 press conference on the shared world shooter’s Twitter account. It had promised a reveal at the trade show, but had not indicated when and where to tune in. Now you know.

Although the project was formally unveiled in February – after leaking like a sieve for literal years – it has not yet been seen in action except behind closed doors; some press who attended the reveal are yet to see it. The only public release to date is a tiny snippet from a longer trailer.

It will be an important event for the team; it’s the first new project from Bungie since exiting Microsoft and Halo, which is a heck of a reputation to live up to, and Activision has invested heavily in the franchise in potentia.

Destiny is expected in 2014 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One with other platforms, like PC, not yet ruled out and the possibility of cross-save.

Destiny also made a star appearance at the PlayStation 4 reveal, suggesting Activision and Sony are quite pleased with each other at the moment.

Destiny has potential of being glorious clusterfuck if amount of content has to be same / identical cross-gen. Same amount and same content fitted into e.g. X360 than to PS 4. Only difference allowed would be graphical fidelity.

Edit: They can pull it off with mandatory install on X360 considering how hilarious it would be suddenly get “Insert DVD 8″ when changing zone.

It will be crossplatform but graphics are the last problem for MMOFPS games or MMO games at all in general.

World Of warcraft or World Of Tanks proves that. Gameplay and decent interface/soical aspect matters.

The least most shocking thing would be an announcement of an exclusive content deal for Destiny on PS4, similar to the one Activision already has with Microsoft for Call of Duty (just saying, it seems possible, considering where Acti was 5 years ago on Playstation vs. where they are now, and by that, I mean they were threatening to pull support for the PS3 due to its difficulties, now, they’re trotting out on stage maybe their biggest gamble in awhile with a new IP, demoing it at a Playstation press conference, my how times change). Can’t wait to see it, will be part of my future PS4 game collection for sure. Also, random thought, but I don’t know if I’d ever want Gus Fring reading me a bed time story like in the live action teaser trailer, afraid he might knife me with a straight razor when he’s done reading (Breaking Bad reference).

Exclusive content was already announced back when they first showed the game with the PS4.

Destiny was announced to have Exclusive content on PS4. Acti is giving COD to Micro and Destiny to Sony. Ubi also appears to be offering exclusive content on PS for Watch dogs and AC4. Good relations with the third parties!
However if Destiny manages to be as big as it is anticipated,Micro made a right choice.

It’s really weird to see MS and Sony swap so many people.
    - Johnathan Blow who’s Braid became a hit on XBLA? Reveals The Witness at Sony event. (Kinda) ditto for Bungiel
    - Phil Harrison as a MS CEO while Insomniac is rumored to be make an Xbox1 exclusive.
