Harmonix announces Fantasia: Music Evolved for Kinect on Xbox 360 and Xbox One

Tuesday, 4th June 2013 14:13 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Harmonix has announced Fantasia: Music Evolved for Kinect on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. In it, players will become the new apprentice of the sorcerer Yen Sid in Disney’s Fantasia.

Players will “explore and transform magical worlds” by unleashing their “musical creativity” through two modes: exploration and performance.

Users will be able to explore their environment thanks to a 3D cursor called “the Muse,” and cause various events to happen in the game world.

A meter is filled by collecting stars placed in the environment and this will open portals to the performance mode of the game.

The Disney Interactive title is out in 2014. Shots pulled from the game’s Facebook page are below along with the announcement trailer.

Thanks, Shack.

There are some people over on NeoGAF pretty convinced this isn’t one of the exclusives.

So I really don’t know now. I’d be shocked if it weren’t being counted.

Xbox Exclusive! Well, seriously, we knew there would be some (many ? Most ?) of the exclusive games on Xbox One would be Kinect games.

About the rumors on Banjo & Kazooie and Killer Instinct return, I don’t know. We would probably not see both, and Rare is almost on the same situation as LucasArts before it got shut up: it WAS a brilliant studio, but nowhere near what it used to be and they haven’t created a single decent game in years. Most of their talented creators left or got their talent wasted on Kinect shovelwares.
So even if they would make a new B&K and/or Killer Instinct, I really don’t know it would be a good thing in the end…

Yeah like said above,i don’t know for certain but i do not think most of the staff that developed the original Killer Instinct titles are still at Rare,But i would still be really hyped to see a new KI announced at E3.

@ 13: 15 games FROM Microsoft Studios only? Seriously?
If it’s true, then they would have to hire a consistent amount of people and it would’ve been noticed, unless we are talking about small, rushed Kinect games.

They don’t have enough staff at Microsoft Studios to produce 15 (full) games until Xbox One launch at the end of the year. Even Sony or Nintendo couldn’t do that, and they have MUCH stronger and bigger first party studios

If I remember correctly, that’s Phil Spencer said in the reveal.
Dont worry though, one half will be kinect and other half will be download only :P
15 is not really a big number if you take all those things into consideration. Worth noting is that there are only 16 games confirmed for X1, in comparison to 33 for PS4, massive difference as of now.

Hmm so PS4 wont have these type of games?
I mean seriously this is getting ridiculous.

360 was always slagged as been too hardcore to break the PS3 now the 1 is for casuals only.

Do you really think either company could survive on the so called hardcore gamer only who play cod or bf or halo on line till the next one comes out.

The majority of gamers treat it as a hobby in there spare time so tend to go out and get new games when they come out for something different.

Wake up and smell the coffee guys. ;)

I just watched the trailer and it didn’t have single fucking thing in common with the classic that is Fantasia. I confess to be a Disney toon fanboy but there was NOTHING. Not even a grand gesture that showed it was about that cartoon.

My future exodus from Xbox to PS4 is sealed. I’ve really enjoyed my 5 years with the 360 but time for a change, I have no real problems with this game despite wanting another RB it’s just that I’m concerned how Xbox is positioning itself, and this game could well sympomatic of that. I have no interest in kinect gaming or watching TV. I’m excited for the change.
