PopCap teases Plants vs Zombies crossover with “Grass Effect” and “Dead Face”

PopCap has released two shots of some sort of cross-over project for Plants vs. Zombies. Both shots were posted on Facebook: “Grass Effect” and “Dead Face”, teasing Mass Effect and Dead Space, respectively. The developer states to expect to hear more on this in June during E3. EA’s press event is on June 10 so we’re likely find out more then. Shots are below.

    @3, did they have much choice? Didn’t an investment firm already hold the reins at that point?

    @4 Yup. First they sold to John Ricitiello’s equity firm for 300 million, covering Bioware and Pandemic. Then Ricitiello sold both studios to EA for close to 900 million, and became CEO in the process.

    They still agreed to being sold maybe not to EA but to John which wasn’t he working for EA at the time just not as a CEO?

    I think the way the story goes, Ricitiello was at EA for a long time, thought he was gonna be CEO, got passed over, left the company, and then started with the equity thing, and didn’t come back until they offered him CEO.
