99 Spirits: Japanese indie dev launches medieval RPG puzzler today

Friday, 31st May 2013 08:24 GMT By Dave Cook

99 Spirits is the medieval RPG puzzler from Japanese indie dev TORaIKI. It launches in the West today on PC, and we’ve got a batch of launch screens to go with it.

We know VG247 is roamed by fans of quirky Japanese titles, so this one is firmly for you. Don’t say we’re not kind to you folks.

99 Spirits is a tale of revenge which sees a young girl travelling across feudal Japan to avenge her mother’s death, capturing spirits and using their powers in battles along the way. It has multiple endings and both English and Japanese language tracks, not to mention a neat art style.

You can buy 99 Spirits today on Japanese indie store Rice Digital, and it will be rolling out shortly at £12.99 and £16.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which includes the soundtrack and dual language options.

We’ve got some screens below. Let us know what you think.

People should vote for it on Steam Greenlight http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=126670991

I will probably hold off buying it myself, I still got Metro and Dust to finish.
