Sniper Elite V2 missing co-op on Wii U, gamers say

Unverified reports suggest the Wii U version of Sniper Elite V2 is missing the online co-op mode which proved popular among players of the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

NintendoLife reports Miiverse and Twitter users are complaining that the Wii U version is missing Kill Tally, Bombing Run and Overwatch modes - online co-op modes found in all three existing versions.

Sniper Elite V2 does not support competitive multiplayer and there are no plans to bring the DLC to Nintendo's platform, making the Wii U version almost entirely an offline affair.

The news comes of something of a surprise, as does the game itself - it apparently turned up in North American and European stores this week, but there was press release or marketing push to herald its arrival. The port was announced in February and almost immediately went silent.

As Sniper Elite V2 hasn't made its way to Australia on Wii U, we'll have to wait for European business hours to request official comment on the matter.

Rebellion Developments seems quite pleased with the success of Sniper Elite V2; a sequel is on the way, and a spin-off was released on PC recently.

Thanks, Joystiq.
