Football Manager 13 is officially the best-selling entry to Sports Interactive’s series, and as a treat the studio is bringing Football Manager 14 to Linux with cross-play functionality thrown in.
Studio director Miles Jacobson confirmed the milestone on Twitter over the weekend. He said, “Hmm. So that happened earlier than I expected,” then added, “I am delighted to announce that #FM13 has just become the best-selling game in the Football Manager series. Thank you so much for all your support!”
Jacobson then took to the studio’s social channels to confirm that the team would be talking about Football Manager 14 features in due course, and that no release date has been set.
He added, “So the promised snippet of #FM14 news. As well as being on Mac & Windows, it will also be on Linux. With crossplay. One price for all 3 – so if you have a Macbook, Windows laptop and Linux desktop (for example) you’ll be able to play the game on each of those machines via Steam. For the more technically minded, the flavour of Linux we’ll be supporting it Ubuntu 12.04 (LTS)”
