Rayman Legends announced for PS Vita

Monday, 27th May 2013 21:18 GMT By Debabrata Nath

Rayman Legends is coming to PS Vita and will be releasing day and date with other platforms, Ubisoft announced today.

The PS Vita version will include all of the original Rayman Legends content along with five exclusive maps. They’ll be playable with Murphy, the greenbottle fly, controlled through the rear touch pad of the device.

The Vita version will also get two exclusive costumes. You can dress up Rayman in a Prince of Persia costume, while Globox will get a Splinter Cell themed costume to wear.

The PS Vita version will be releasing on August 29 in US and August 30 in the UK. It’s also in development for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

Nice, I would have picked Rayman Origins for the PS Vita, but now that is included in Legends is even better. I just hope it will have the same features as the Wii-u with the gamepad.

Oops! Got carried away from the excitement! :p Thanks SolidGamerSnake!

Interesting thats August PS Vita game confirmed but PS Vita lineup in certain months is non-existance, surely things should get better as we progress foward to E3+Gamescom+TGS 2013, the rumoured AC and COD and hopefully Freedom Wars confirmed for launch outside JP also i wonder why the trailer also had bits in English?

So first it’s a Nintendo Exclusive, then all consoles will get it, and now Vita get’s exclusive levels? That’s a weird U-turn right there.

I see what you did there, clever. I have no doubt that Rayman Legends would have been a system seller on Wii U because those sort of games is what sells on Nintendo consoles. But as a third party publisher limiting your audience with an main-line exclusive in a multiplatform franchise to a dying platform is financial sucide so better to expand your audience to ensure profitability than risk supporting a platform.

Exactly why the game isn’t going to be exclusive to XB One..amiright!?

Yes not for the obvious reasons about Xbone but unless MS do more dirty deals not a chance in hell.

Definite buy now. Definitely looks like Ubi has good confidence on Vita. The exclusive content is just the icing on the cake and makes it better than any other version. Obviously, OLED is gorgeous :D
And to that Origins will be free on Plus next month, which makes total sense now.
Also is very telling about the state of Wii U.

@DrDamn – Yes, I know that it’ll be available with PS+ on June, but I don’t have a PS Vita yet. I do have PS+ but don’t think I’ll re-new my subscription. It’s really a great service, but too many games for my little-time!

Ok fair enough, though you don’t need a Vita yet to take advantage of the Vita stuff on PS+ now. Kick off downloading the titles via your PS3 – all the Vita stuff is in the store – then cancel the downloads on exiting the store. It then sits in your download list and you can grab it again without cost when you get the Vita, even if it’s no longer on the PS+ list.

Totally understand the time thing :).

@16 – Dragon: is there a chance that you´ll ever be able to post something without making it a sony advert plus adding your standard nintendo side blow? tiny chance?
