InFamous: Second Son crowds mostly based on real people

Sucker Punch scanned friends, family and professional actors to help populate the world of InFamous: Second Son.

According to a report on GameInformer, "nearly every citizen" of Second Son's virtual Seattle is based on a real person.

Sucker Punch used a 3D scanning process to record the look of 75 people in three days, capturing the volume and shape of the face, as well as movement via a 360 degree camera set up. The process results in face models composed of about 1.4 million polygons, which are later compressed into actually usable assets. Photos of this process are available through the link above.

InFamous: Second Son is expected as a PlayStation 4 launch title when the system hits at the end of 2013. The new protagonist, Delsin, can control smoke and later absorbs other powers. Reacquaint yourself with the reveal trailer if you fancy a bit of superhero-ing.

Thanks, Polygon.
