Saints Row 4 has a new video available, and while it’s short, it shows the zany action you’ve become accustomed to with the series. Hit it up below, and while gazing past the break you will also find box art for the Commander in Chief Edition. Game’s out August 20.

I understand, it’s weird. They’ve created a Universe in which the bizarre is normal and even believable, and that’s cool. Their setting just leaves the door open for all kinds of crazy. This is why I’m more okay with this than things like Assassin’s Creed.

It’s funny, the Assassin’s Creed guys clearly want to be developing stuff like Saints Row because of their obsession with super powers, but then it’s tied into games which are HISTORICALLY ACCURATE, except with Saturday morning one dimensional cartoon characters, and super powers.

I guess it’s because Assassin’s Creed has a very fake pretence to intellectuality, a very fake one, whilst still being a child. Saints Row admits it is a child and runs with it. If games are going to be silly, I wish they’d have the balls to admit that they’re silly, and really open up to that.

what i love about the franchise is that it trumps GTA. Saints Row was built on the things you weren’t supposed to do in GTA but did. we spent countless hours creating chaos in Liberty City in GTA III, ignoring all missions. in Saints Row, i can’t wait to get to the next mission.

To each his own. I like creating mayhem in games too, but i absolutely don’t see the appeal of SR. What i’ve seen and played of SR3 was ridiculous and far from funny and this….where to find the right words. Nah man, this is just not for me. GTA V for me all the way, it’s not like you can’t enjoy both these games…but i sure don’t.
