Grand Theft Auto 5 publisher Rockstar Games has unveiled special and collector’s editions of its crime-em-up. They’re both available for pre-order now.

An update on the Rockstar Games Newswire confirms that all pre-orders include the Atomic Blimp vehicle in-game:

This thing:

The Special Edition costs $79.99 and includes:

  • Full retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V
  • Collectible SteelBook with Exclusive Artwork
This special SteelBook features double-sided, never-before-seen artwork of Michael, Trevor and Franklin. Custom color and metallic treatments bring out the detail of the artwork created exclusively for this SteelBook.
  • Blueprint Map
This exclusive, additional 21.5” x 26.75” map displays a blueprint view of Los Santos and Blaine County. Cryptic markings indicate locations for fast cash and other points of interest for the up-and-coming entrepreneur.
  • Special Ability Boost
Michael, Franklin and Trevor each have a unique special ability. With this boost, the special ability bar will generate 25% faster.
  • Stunt Plane Trials
Single player Stunt Plane Trials let you take on additional aerial challenges spread throughout Los Santos and Blaine County.
  • Bonus Outfits, Tattoos and More
Michael, Franklin and Trevor get bonus outfits in their wardrobes, character specific tattoos at tattoo parlors, and special deals from shopkeepers across Los Santos and Blaine County.
  • Additional Weapons
When visiting Ammunation stores in single player, merchants will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer.

The Collector’s Edition costs $149.99 and includes all of the above, plus:

  • Grand Theft Auto V Security Deposit Bag with Logo Key
Inspired by the heists in Grand Theft Auto V, this custom 10.75” x 8.5” money bag features a pop-up style lock and laser cut logo key to secure important items. The reverse side features a pressed Rockstar Games logo on the security mount with a framed ID window.
  • Grand Theft Auto V New Era 9FIFTY™ Snapback Cap
This exclusive New Era 9FIFTY™ cap features an embroidered Los Santos logo on the front, a stitched, black Rockstar Games logo on the wearer’s left side, a Grand Theft Auto ‘V’ logo applique on the opposite side, and snapback closure for an adjustable fit.
  • Custom Characters for Grand Theft Auto Online
Get classic Grand Theft Auto characters to use within the Grand Theft Auto Online Character Creation System.
  • Unique Vehicles and Garage Property
Players will instantly receive a garage to store custom vehicles. In single player, the garage will be stocked with the 1930’s style Hotknife hotrod and the CarbonRS sports bike. In Grand Theft Auto Online, players will get the high-end Khamelion electric car.

Rockstar will post pre-order links over on its official hub shortly. Stay tuned.

so your forced to pre-order if you want to fly the atomic blimp?.. that is the most stupid i have read in a long time. lock out things you can do in the game and sell it as dlc, awesome!… not. what great directions the games are heading in. it is time to vote with the wallet… gta5 is a no buy.

@2 150 dollars for things that have been free unlockable in games for years, its a scam…

To say GTA5 is a no buy because of this is a bit extreme. Buying the normal version will not limit the enjoyment I will get from the game.

Correction. Worst thing DLC-wise is METRO Last Light with DLC difficulty mode.
    That’s the fuckin’ worst!

Everyone on this comment section can sit and moan but will obviously buy and play this regardless lol

    @4 Agree on both points.

I just bought 15 games for $275, therefore, you could either buy this GTAV Collector’s Edition or EIGHT GAMES (9 after tax).

@6 – Me too. I’ve had enough with this gen’s arrogant and greedy publishers trying to squeeze out every last cent with pre-order crap and DLC.

  9. tezzer1985

It’s only going to get worst next gen.

I can’t fucking wait to play this game.

I can’t imagine not pre-ordering this, so that’s not a problem, at all.

However, the special editions all just seem to be loaded with stuff that make the game easier, so I don’t have much interest in those things.

Announce next gen versions, R*. I dont want to buy this in September only to have the new consoles come out 2 months later.

  13. Clupula

@13 – I totally don’t get that attitude, to be quite honest.

Well, if you’re a 360-only owner, then maybe it makes sense. But otherwise, are you planning on throwing away your systems the second the next gen starts?

    #13 2 years ago
  14. Gekidami

Yes. I always sell off my systems when a new gen starts.

  15. Oynox Slider

EA just confirmed they want to support the 360 for at least four more years. I see no point in dumping my old system. Won’t buy the next gen anyway, simply because there are so many good games I did not play in this generation.

    Anyway b2t:

I will buy the Special Edition. The pricing in general is quite overexaggerated, but the Collector’s Edition is just rip-off!

  16. Gekidami

No thanks, i’d rather get the better looking, more feature packed next gen versions, rather than off-shot ports for the soon to be weaker systems. And i dont even buy that many EA games to begin with.

@9 tezzer1985, yes because of idiots that must buy everything like crackwhores. they are gonna ruin gaming as we know it. in the future i will take my cash elsewhere. to a hobby that respect you as a customer and are not there for one reason only, to milk and flog you of your cash.

i vote with my money and i start to day. if i lose out on a good game, it don’t bother me, its their loss not mine.

@18 Do crackwhores buy ‘everything’ ? Where do they keep it ?

  19. Monkeybiscuit

Rockstar just lost another customer with their money grubbing tactics.

I’m fine with people getting a cap or some statue or something, but cutting out digital content from the basic edition and reselling as “special edition” grinds my gears.

And they wonder why there is videogame piracy?
