Heavy Gear Assault: Unreal Engine 4 mech shooter now funding Kickstarter

Heavy Gear Assault developer Stompy Bot Productions has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a free and pay-what-you-want take on the series. It's a chunky shooter, and it's riddled with dynamic destruction.

The Kickstarter campaign is looking to raise $800,000 within 38 days.

It should be coming to Windows, Mac, Linux and Android, and it'll have e-sports support, tons of mech customisation, dynamic destruction of both terrain and mechs, as well as plenty of social tools to get a community rolling.

The payment model is being billed as 'Free-to-choose', which means you pay different amounts depending on your level of involvement. The Kickstarter page reads, "Choose your level of involvement to pay and play how you want. Play entirely for free or pay for premium membership that doesn't break the balance of the game. The free-to-play model has evolved".

Dos this sound like a neat payment method? Check out the page, and stay tuned for more updates on Heavy Gear Assault.
