Xbox One TV strategy: Halo live-action series confirmed, Steven Spielberg to direct

Xbox One will be home to bespoke TV shows, digital shorts and much more.

Nancy Tellem, head of Microsoft's TV strategy laid the company's plans bear at the Xbox One event. It will include existing shows, new content, digital shorts and much more.

343 Industries' Bonnie Ross then took to the stage to discuss the big scope for story-telling in the Halo series, and blending the interactivity of the series.

Ross confirmed a new Halo live-action series directed by Steven Spielberg. The director then discussed his fondness for the gaming medium, and the way that gaming and television can combine to heighten immersion in entertainment.

The name revealed was simply Halo: The Television Series, but this may change in due course.
