Wii U Basic drops to $240 at Target

Tuesday, 21st May 2013 14:24 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Target has dropped the price of Wii U Basic to $240, which is 20% off the normal $300 price of the 8GB system. The US retailer has followed suit along with Asda and Amazon UK, which marked the system down to £149 earlier this month. Other retailers in the US have yet to counter the markdown, but Amazon US is selling it for $280, which is $40 more than Target. Likely, the site will match the price eventually. A present, the 32GB Wii U Deluxe model will still run you $350 at Target. Thanks,

    How about Nin-doom-to? hehe

    Anyway, Ninty need to sort their sh*t out quick as things are looking increasingly worse for Wii U on a daily basis.

    It’s embarrassing that Nintendo thought it could once again sell a next gen system with lackluster hardware and few launch titles.

    It’s like they had no idea their previous system only sold well because it was cheaper and gimicy, but didn’t realize after people purchased the Wii, it sat collecting dust.

    People will not be fooled again. No one is interested in buying one and if you ask someone working at a store like Gamestop, they won’t even recommend you buy it… so they have no chance.

    GG nintendo, GG…

    @5 – I agree.

    Time is right for a new CEO. Iwata is far too behind the times.
