UK Charts see Metro: Last Light ascend to the top spot

Metro: Last Light has entered the UK charts at first place, marking another recent success story for publishers Koch Media and Deep Silver.

The full chart follows below, but Metro: Last Light’s high entry follows a string of mixed, but largely positive reviews. You can get our full score round up here, and you can also check out my own appraisal of the shooter here.

Koch’s other release Dead Island Riptide has fallen to second place as a result, and MCV reports that although Metro: Last light has debuted at first, its first-week sales still pale in comparison to Metro 2033′s when it launched in 2010 – despite debuting at 5th at the time.

Here’s the latest chart in full:

1. Metro: Last Light (Koch Media)
2. Dead Island: Riptide (Koch Media)

Fantastic game and it’s the first game where Direct X11 really shines. Playing this game on a console is the biggest mistake in your life.
There will be level in Moscow – Red Square. Playing that moment on a console is a crime.

I’m going to play second time that’s for sure although I have good ending.

    @1 Erthazus

It’s funny cause the developers said the game is going to look the same on PC and Xbox 360, so it seems like they lied LOL!

MetroLL deserves this , consider the difficult n sticky sitution they had during process of making the game, they’ve done such an incredible job!
I’ve created a topic for this game…lets share our thoughts:

Damn, those screenshots look near Killzone Shadow Fall, and even better in some aspects. Or am I seeing things wrong?

^ “Or am I seeing things wrong?”

    Of course you are wrong.

BTW, Holy Tesselation Batman! This is how tesselation works.

@7THX man . Nothin can compete with PC version of such games , even the next-gen titles like Killzone SF , however killzone SF in case of graphics n stuff seems to be frustrating !

Hell YEAH for Metro LL but…
Why the fuck does that Dead Island expansion still among top 3? Really disappointing. Original DI was at least ambitious. This is the exact opposite :(

graphics are the most overrated thing in gaming.

i am so tired of this pc elitist crap. enjoy your stuff on your fancy pc. finetune the graphics settings all day long if that´s what you enjoy…but you can create tension, atmosphere and all that with great gameplay mechanics, artdesign and good sound.

no game that has been called a graphics reference is anywhere near my top 25 games.

^ Yeah. You like Halo that does not have gameplay mechanics, good art design or sound good so everything is fine here.

BTW, I don’t need to tune my graphics because videocard does it for me + Metro:TTL is a great game. Amazing even with weak AI and weak exploration.

Graphics do matter for a first person shooter, like it or not. They matter. Always did since first Wolfenstein or DooM

@10 I know what u mean , but don’t u think its better playin a game with better quality ? its not about showin off PC or sth , its about the being progressive n prosperous …
Every aspect of a game matters , u can’t say no to graphics !

No graphics are not the be all end all.. some of us were losing our minds playing adventure on the 2600. And you need to remember some like messing about with settings and getting it just right. nothing wrong with that.
Hate to be that guy, but some of us want a turn key honda, I prefer messing about with my 66 split window vw bus and my 67 karmann ghia.
both a bitch.. but its a good time.

all i am saying is that great graphics will never make a bad game great.

@13: i had a 59 vespa vbb, 67 moto guzzi v7 700, 74 ducati scrambler, 2 mercedes w114/w115 of the 70´s, a mercedes 123 coupe, a lambretta ld and 2 rover minis – not all of those rides at the same time but from when i was 18 to 30ish. all gone. today i have a peugeot 206 sw and a brompton folding bike. true story. lol.

@14 That’s quite the collection you’ve got there! I’ve (unfortunately) only owned a 70s Opel Ascona and currently have a Ford Fiesta. What happened to all those beauties man? Low on cash?

yes they´re all gone :( the mini was the last of the bunch and i sold it this winter. one friend of mine is quite a good mechanic but i am not. i can only help. he moved to another town, married, got kids and we rarely see each other these days. i also do not have a garage anymore. all those rides eat cash if you cannot fix them by yourself and even if you can it takes a lot of your time to look for the parts. i am just not into that anymore. i had to let go and it was a good decission. i also do not work as much anymore. i have more time but not more money obviously. it´s all good though. it was fun at the time…i just wish i´d still have the ducati. it is a nice, small motorbike and fun to ride around with. some day i might get one again…damn, i really crave one now, might look into that. it is summer. i can still buy a ps4 later :)

edit: i am into tattooing too, expensive! but all i have left is the cock, balls, hands, neck, face and head, so not too much money i can keep burning on that :)…gaming is quite cashintense too…
