Metal Gear Rising didn't launch on Xbox 360 in Japan due to console's weak performance

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance didn't launch on Xbox 360 in Japan because of the console's poor performance in the country, Kojima Productions producer Yuji Korekado has explained.

Korekado explained the decision as part of a recent HideoBlog podcast, where he said, "Around last year, Xbox 360 sales didn't really grow [in Japan]", then Kojima himself added, "'Bwah?' I thought [after seeing the projected figures], and if we did release that [number in Japan], there was talk that it would be rough on the brand."

It's no secret that Microsoft's rig consistently suffers small sales each week in Japan, but would the game's release on Xbox 360 really have hurt the Metal Gear brand as Kojima suggested? Let us know below.
