Google+ Games to close at the end of June

Depopulated social network Google+ is shuttering its games service.

Replaced by a suite of mobile gaming services tied to the Google Play app store, Google+ Games will close on June 30.

A post by Google advises players to contact individual publishers to inquire about any remaining balance of credit; some will offer transfers or a grace period.

A list of contact addresses for affected publishers is available through the link above.

Games first went live on Google+ in August 2011, starting with a handful of titles like Dragon Age: Legends; Angry Birds; Bejeweled Blitz and Zynga Poker.

Thanks, Joystiq.

The bigger Google becomes the more I worry of them abusing their power.

But damn, they keep making amazing products that blow my mind away.

Good riddance. It was filled with games requiring… Facebook, which is beyond stupid.
