DriveClub promo images are unbelievably gorgeous

Friday, 17th May 2013 03:45 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Here are some promotional images for DriveClub, Evolution Studios’ PlayStation 4 racer, which are so lovely as to be almost incredible.

The images were pulled from the racer’s website, and it’s not clear whether they’re representative of in-engine graphics. Given some of the things Evolution had to say about the next-gen title at the PlayStation 4 reveal, they might well be; the team apparently built simulations of every little detail, right down to how interior fittings look if you brush them in different directions.

I’ve uploaded these at full resolution because you’re worth it. Try to be patient as they load. DriveClub has not been dated but can’t turn up until the PlayStation 4 does in the 2013 holiday period.

Thanks, Gematsu.

    I think it’s obvious that these aren’t in-game.

@1 Is it? This level of graphical detail isn’t unprecedented:

I know “high end pc” etc etc. Insert “direct to metal” “no api” “john carmack counter point” here lol.

    ^ IMO, yes.

The lighting and shadows give it away.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

    Yes, they are in-game.

It’s just that your ‘but my PC is better on paper’ brain blockage is full effect.

It honestly must be stressful being a PC gamer commenting on every PS4 news.
Almost like your trying to deter people from next gen.

It’s a sad life to live as a PC elitist. ffs

Why can’t groups just enjoy what we enjoy without fighting over it. Some people are so retarded.
No different to someone shoving there religious beliefs down another’s throat.

Who, exactly, is the PC gamer in these comments?

If I had to guess, I’d say its cutscene stills. Look absolutely stunning though. One to watch!

Edit: On closer inspection, a couple look like in-game shots. Still, it’s another reason the PS4 is on my shopping list.

As for the pics they look nice. The cars look nice, everything else looks dull and bland imo. As a whole, deff not ugly, but not mind blowing either.

These can be in game footage because when you watch f.e pictures from gt5 they look stunning too, not this stunnig , butone could assume that this is the natural leap/difference bet

Between current and nextgen. But in the picture where you can see the gorgeus looking mountain you could draw a conclusion about it being cutscene ir something, but in the killzone 4 demo there was all the time magnificent views to the big city and i would thus say that ps4 can manage these graphics and it can show us a lot of landscape mainly because its huge amount of ram and also through proper optimizing. Please don’t contract polygon disease, first spotted in PD staff and since identified in the offices of Turn 10. High polygon rate alone does not a good game make.
