Gameloft and Fox Digital Entertainment have announced a game tie-in to Ice Age creator Blue Sky Studio’s upcoming animated film Epic. It’s heading to mobile and tablets soon.

Here’s a trailer from the film, which is a fantasy romp due to hit cinemas in the States tomorrow, May 15 and Europe from May 22.

In a statement sent to VG247 this morning, Gonzague De Vallois, Gameloft’s senior VP of publishing said, “We are thrilled to be working again with Fox Digital Entertainment and Blue Sky Studios to bring their latest animated adventure to smartphone and tablet gamers.

“The great success of our prior partnership, Ice Age Village, which has been downloaded over 50 Million times to date, is a testament to the amazing animated worlds Blue Sky Studios creates, and that we are proud to bring to gamers.”

The game will place players in the middle of a battle between warring factions the Jinn and Boggans, where they will help grow a forest world, engage in action-packed fights and more. We’ll have more on the game once its May release date is narrowed down.
