Defiance renewed for a second season by SyFy

Syfy has renewed Defiance for a second season by greenlighting 13 new episodes. Season two will begin production in Toronto in August for a 2014 premiere. The news coincides with Trion's announcement of new content headed to the game end of Defiance, which includes five content updates for the year, with each one offering free, paid and micro-transaction items along with a new playable species on the docket.
