PS4 marketing push leaked, slogan is “greatness awaits” – rumour

PlayStation 4 is set to get a big marketing push courtesy of Sony, featuring Killzone: Shadow Fall, Destiny and the slogan “Greatness awaits”.

Siliconera has posted what appears to be part of a commercial script, said to have emerged from the company orchestrating the campaign.

The script supposedly reads, “Who are you not to be great? You, with the imagination of a brilliant child and the powers of an ancient god.

“Who are you to be ordinary? You, who could get away with murder, or raise the dead…” As the guy says this the buildings start to look damaged.

“Who are you to be anonymous? You, whose name should be spoken in reverent tones or in terrified whispers.

“Who are you to be afraid? You, who can serve as judge and jury while hoarding infinite lives.

“Who are you to be a slave to the past? You who can travel time like the oceans and rewrite history with a single word.

“Who are you to deny greatness? If you would deny it to yourself, you deny it to the entire world.”

“Greatness awaits.

    Damn, they really didn’t learn from their previous campaigns, did they?

    To me the only good PlayStation advertising they released those last years was the “Long Live Play for Michael”. Aimed at gamers, shows iconic characters. Brilliant. Now THAT would have been a good launch spot for PS4

    @2 Personally i think Sony’s best add was the double life one.

    But these days i almost never see adds for Sony’s consoles or games on TV outside of promotional stuff on Discovery or something.

    Of course, one does not become great by playing a video game. One may do well according to the rules of the video game, but greatness is hardly the correct description for that.
    Now I’m not buying a PS4.

    HADES AWAITS :D Save it for GOW4 perhaps? Anyway Sony’s marketing messages have always been confusing (Sometimes good or bad) which depending on how well its used can been a persuasive marketing technique.
