Streets of Rage & ESWAT remakes pitched to Sega by Backbone, concept art surfaces

Backbone Entertainment artist Arvin Bautista has published a gallery of concept images for Streets of Rage and ESWAT pitches to Sega while at the studio. The images give a glimpse of what might have been.

The shots come from Bautista’s personal art blog, and show character art for Streets of Rage fighters Axel Stone, Blaze Fielding an Adam Hunter, as well as some ESWAT level and character mock-ups. Both games are listed as PSN and XBLA pitches.

Here’s the art in full. Let us know if you would have liked either project to be made below.

I would LOVE for Sega to come back to Streets of Rage and bring it to current generation consoles. It would be even better if it was still 2D with next-gen graphics ala Super Mario U.

And it betta got damn well have Blaze.

I feel like there’s an entire division of Sega that’s only job is to reject Streets of Rage reboot/remake/sequel ideas.

How fitting that GameTrailers released a new episode of BackTrack about Streets of Rage:

    That take me back.

If they are going to reboot it, they should try to keep the game 90′s style. I’d love to see something like this.

@3: So true. I wish they would do SOMETHING. Maybe skip the next Yakuza and deliver a Streets of Rage instead?
