Starbound pre-orders bring in $1 million

Science fiction sandbox Starbound has amassed a whopping $1 million in pre-orders, unlocking a nubmer of stretch goals.

At time of writing, the total is $1,072,279 from just 44,363 purchases - an average price of over $24, although the minimum package is just $15.

Thanks to this sustained interest, indie developer Chucklefish has been able to promise to a few more features - fossils and pets.

Last time we checked in with Starbound it had just smashed a $600,000 stretch goal, unlocking a new alien race.
