3D Mario will be released on Wii U by October - report

3D Mario will be released on Wii U by October, according to a report on CVG.

The game was announced by Nintendo back in January and the firm said it will be playable at E3 in June alongside Mario Kart Wii U.

Nintendo has promised time and time again it will have a banner release slate - which it plans to heavily promote - starting in the summer and leading into fall.

Earlier this week, Iwata told investors that the firm was running behind on first-party titles due to pulling talent from various teams to help get the Wii U launch slate out the door.

However, sources close to CVG state this is not the case, as the titles have been instead delayed until after the second Wii U system update rolls out this summer.
