CoD Ghosts: Sledgehammer not involved, team "heads down" on new project

Call of Duty: Ghosts was unveiled for current and next-gen formats last night, revealing at long last what Infinity Ward has next in store. Modern Warfare 3 co-developer Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that it is not involved, and is currently working on something new.

The team tweeted out a congratulatory message to Infinity Ward last night:

This begs the question, 'What are they working on?' Last we heard, back in November the team was hiring for a senior environmental artist. The advert said, "We are actively recruiting top talent for our Call of Duty development team."

You don't get much clearer than that. But still, the question remains.
