haha same here. i have played okami already but hd sits on the hd not even started. same with the cave. just started playing binary domain (which was ps+ germany only i think), not even started metal gear hd on vita, nor virtues last resort or puddle or thomas was alone. haven´t finished gravity rush, only started dead or alive 5, a little more than halfway through motorstorm apocalypse and lbp2 and i definitley forgot some more now, bought tons of retail vita games latley too and the 3ds has great games as well. my 360 is collecting serious dust, i wonder if it still works. man things change- it was my main console this gen by far.
that said, i have a life, a job…i cannot handle this anymore!

I’ve just got to Princess Fuse, like ~6 hours in.
It’s slow to start (generally the pace is a bit slow for my liking), and fuckin’ hell it’s annoying not being able to speed up, or skip text in cutscenes.
Having said that, it’s really pretty, and the most Zelda-like non-Zelda game I’ve played.

Catherine is a great game, hope people who wouldn’t buy it give it a shot and enjoy it!

@8 I’m in the same boat as you, so many PS+ games just sitting on my HD untouched that I finally cancelled my subscription as I know I just won’t get round to them

@4 Finished with platinum trophy. Gotta admit though, that I was on semester break when they put it in the store. Don’t think I’ll be able to do the same trick with Catherine. But still glad that I’ll finally be able to get my hands on it.

I stoped buying anything digital for either PS3 or xb360. I won’t to know more about how the new systems will handle digital BC before I continue to stock up. I canceled my PSN+ a bit back for that reason.

@14 Why miss out on games now? Regardless of what PS4 does.

I can see OG’s logic, but to me £30 – 40 a year is still nothing to pay for the games and extras offered – even if they are essentially just rented.

Depends how much sub you have left. I was up until October this year but got another year stacked on for £20. I plan to keep the PS3 for a bit anyway and continued PS+ stuff will help with the new console lull post launch.

I think that the PSN+ is fantastic value, don’t get me wrong. I loved having it. But this close to PS4, I am waiting to see what will happen before I make a descion of renewing mine. I stoped buying XB360 stuff too, same type of reason.

^ Then why did you drop it? You don’t have to buy PSN stuff. PS+ gives you free stuff. This ain’t XBOX LIVE. Did you end your LIVE sub too? I highly doubt your PS3 game library is as vast as your 360 one so PS+ would benefit someone like you more than the rest of us.

And lets face it but I can’t see you buying a PS4 at launch. I’m sure you’ve even made statements here in the past that backs that up. So lets stop with the sudden interest in PS4 please. Your logic doesn’t make sense.

Yes I canceled my xbox Live Gold as well. I had the family plan.

I have also made a statement that I was on a prepreorder PS4 list at Gamestop. And laughed at the notion of a pre preorder list.

That is one of the problems some people often have. For them it is always personal. And they are often brand loyal. I am not. I buy what I like. I didn’t like the PS3 at launch. I bought one and it sat there. I used the system more as time went by. But consolewise I played XB360 more this gen. I played PC more then either tbh.

Next gen, my plan is to play PC, WiiU and either PS4 or XB Fusion. I can’t see me buying both Sony and MS systems. Not right away, maybe down the road.

Most people are just gamers. Many of the PS2 crowd played XB360 last gen. I suspect that much of the XB360 crowd will play PS4 next gen. Esp if Sony get back on track with their platform, games, services. And I think they are hitting all of the right notes at this point.

In the end more info on both systems is needed in order for most gamers to make a decesion. As it stands right now, unless MS blows me away in the next two months, I am buying a PS4 at launch. Prolly, lol, nothing is ever set in stone. Maybe I will pass on them both.

I have a weird relationship with PS Plus…

I think it’s a cool service, but as the PS3 / Vita are my ‘side’ consoles, I see myself not being able to pay full price for games on them anymore.

I really want to try ‘Soul Sacrifice’ on Vita, but the thought of paying £34.99 for it only to have it turn up for free in a few month’s has just stopped me purchasing Sony games new anymore.

I don’t know if thats really good business or not?!

This month, I saved the cash for Soul Sacrifice and bought Dragons Dogma : Dark Arisen, Injustice & Dead Island Riptide on 360 instead…

So thats money Sony has lost from me (apart from the plus sub obviously).

Getting all these free games de-values them a bit too, I feel like I did when I had a SNES with a Magicard copy device. Shit loads of free games but I could never be bothered to play any of them.

Weird, I wonder if I’m the only one complaining about free stuff?! :)

Saying that, I hear people complaining about STEAM sales in the same way. I think if someone didn’t have a console I would sell them PS3 and PS Plus for values sake. One things for sure, Sony is getting zero money off me now until ‘The Last of Us’, which I won’t be able to wait for!

I also don’t know how this will work on PS4, surely it’ll need about a year to build up a collection of games?

    @ 20 interesting….

I’ve changed buying habits too, partly through circumstance but also because of PS+. I still buy occasional titles I really want – like Dark Arisen – which I got the digital copy of on PSN (*). Having a big pile of great games sat there I’ve been making the choice to play them rather than anything new.

It’s working out great. inFamous (half finished) and inFamous 2 (not even started) have sat there on my PS3 HDD for a good while. I started by finishing 1 and then went straight in to 2 and finished that off too. It’s great :).

(*) Interestingly I wanted this digitally. It was competitively priced and I had PSN credit in my wallet. With the majority of my PS3 collection on the HDD I am finding I want digital content rather than the faff of discs.

How things change with PS4 I’m not sure. I’ve got a ~18 months of PS+ sub left so I’ll keep hold of the PS3 during the dry period post release. Maybe by then they’ll have some back catalog they can offer. I have a feeling PS+ will be more expensive on PS4 but cover more services.

@20 So you are not playing online on your xbox, and you don’t want the free games on your PS3 until you buy a new system, like in october..?

@21 The problem is that you see them as your side consoles and you don’t want to spend the full price for games, but the service is excellent, you don’t have to play all the games they give each month, and if you really want a game you should buy it, because you don’t know if it will land on the service, as simple as that. I for example bought Ni no kuni last month at 40 dlls, and I will buy others like Beyond, and The last of us.

i think ps+ must go even further because of the reasons mg posted. i feel the same about it. it is a fantastic service but something isn´t perfectly thought out if a customer starts to think if he should buy a game at launch or if he should just wait for it to turn up on ps+. i just recently bought tons of vita games, i think 35 euros is fairly priced for most of them, sly coopr was 25 euros and that´s great value really…still it feels like when you are buying games day one and buy a lot of them, you aren´t getting any benefit from that – it might be more clever to just sit it out. this makes it a strange service indeed. it´s great but not flawless, not fully thought out really, typical sony ;)
that´s why i think sony needs to go full blown subscription/rental service with ps+ on ps4/vita. like a rental system where you have access to everything on psn for a monthly fee as long as your sub is running, i´d pay 50 euros or more a month for that and would be happy. don´t need to own games, just want to play them. not sure if this could pay off for them though, probably not…but i sense we will see ´something´ like this.

@25 I have that feeling too, but just with games that I’m hesitant to buy, but there are games I really want, that probably won’t be showing on the service soon, and then I would buy them as soon as possible, the PS plus system it’s good because I would only buy games that I’m sure I want, the others I would not, with PS plus I get the chance to play them, and if I like them maybe I would buy the second iteration of the game or the game on disc itself.
