FPS titles linked with better short-term memory

Dr. Lorenza Colzato of Leiden University in The Netherlands has produced research that suggests first-person shooter players are likely to have better memories than their non-gun-wielding counterparts.

A group of gamers and non-gamers completed a number of tasks that have been published in the latest issue of Psychological Research. According to the data, FPS' "require players to develop a flexible mindset to rapidly react and monitor fast moving visual and auditory stimuli."
