Dragon Quest Monsters 2 trademark alludes to remake in the works - rumor

Dragon Quest Monsters 2 may be getting a remake if a trademark filed in Japan is any indication.

Translated as "Iru and Luca's Wonderful Mysterious Keys," the original 2001 title starred both Iru and Luka on Game Boy Color, each released on their own separate cartridge with collectible monsters to trade with other Game Boy Color users. Both were released in the US as Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara's Adventure and Cobi's Journey.

Square released a remake of Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland in Japan last year on 3DS, so it's likely DQM2 will land on the platform as well.

Thanks, Joystiq.
