World of Darkness given state-of-the game update

World of Darkness was given a state-of-the game update by CCP during EVE Fanfest today.

Announced back in 2006 and in development since 2008, the MMO based on the Vampire: The Masquerade IP has 70 people working on the title, and over the past week art tools and server infrastructure along with vampire powers and social options have been focused on, according to Massively.

For the rest of the year, the team plans to work the clothing system, PvE environments, out-of-game web-based social tools, and item creation.

Don't expect the MMO to contain your typical crafting tropes through: "You're a powerful, immortal lord of the night. You don't want to stitch a shirt," said the presenter.

During the presentation, CCP showed the tools it's using to develop cities and its buildings in the game along with video footage of internal visual targets running on the engine.

Sounds a bit boring, I know, but at least it's better than no news at all. If you would like to have a look at shots taken of the stage, Famitsu has you covered.

World of Darkness is still in the pre-production phase, so don't expect it any time soon.
