Scribblenauts Unmasked adds DC to the mix - rumour

Here's an interesting rumour: E3 will debut a new Scribblenauts game themed around the DC comics universe.

The story comes via IGN, which cites multiple anonymous sources. The game is said to be in the works for 3DS, PC and Wii U at series developer 5th Cell, with the working titles Unmasked.

The title, content and main character may be changed before reveal, but at present, the whisperers say it stars usual protagonist Maxwell, on a quest to aid various DC heroes.

For example, one level allegedly has Maxwell in the sewers underneath Wayne Manor, where he must make his way past KIller Croc. Robin, Batman, the Joker and Batgirl are all mentioned as part of this questline.

Clayface, Aquaman, Black Manta, Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze were also named, and players wil get the chance to visit Atlantis.

It seems quite a likely proposition as Scribblenauts is published by Warner Bros, which handles the game licensing for DC. The last entry, Scribblenauts Unlimited, featured licensed Nintendo characters - and as you can see in the header image, 5th Cell made it pretty easy to recreate DC characters. Expect the truth of the matter at E3 in June.
